Celebrating our Taekwondo Champions at the North Island Championship!

We are incredibly proud to announce the outstanding achievements of three of our club members who competed in the North Island Championship last weekend. Let’s give a huge round of applause to Taniora, Shania, and Seung for their remarkable performances!

🥇🥉 Taniora brought home the gold medal in poomsae and he secured a bronze medal in sparring, he demonstrated exceptional courage as he fearlessly taking on opponents who were much older and taller.

🥉 Shania displayed huge improvement and poomsae technique, earning herself a bronze medal in poomsae.

🥈 Seung’s remarkable bravery was on full display as he fearlessly faced a 21-year-old opponent for two intense rounds, earning a well-deserved silver medal in sparring.

These accomplishments serve as a powerful reminder of what can be achieved through dedication, discipline, and a relentless pursuit of excellence. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Taniora, Shania, and Seung for their exceptional performances.

We encourage all our members to consider participating in future competitions. It is not just about the medals; it’s about personal growth, building resilience, and becoming the best version of ourselves. Remember, every step taken towards competing is an opportunity for growth and an investment in your own journey.

Dear Members,

I hope you had a great summer break and are feeling well rested.

With classes so interrupted last year, we have decided to start back at Taekwondo early this year. We will start back on Monday 17th January.

The class times are:

First Class: 4pm – 4.40pm
Second Class: 4.40pm – 5.20pm
Third Class: 5.20pm – 6.15pm
Forth Class: 6.15pm – 7.15pm.
Fifth Class: 7.00pm – 8.20pm, (Note: 7:00 to 7:15 for self-warm up).

As Covid-19 still poses a (small) risk to the community we will continue to comply with government requirements relating to Covid-19. These include:

– You should sign in or use the Covid tracer app when you enter class.
– When you are not exercising you should please wear a face mask.
– Please ensure you practice social distancing whenever possible.
– Please help with sanitizing all shared equipment, such as kicking pads, etc.
– Finally, if you could practise good hygiene please. Sanitize hands regularly, cough into your elbow, and ensure if you have any cold or flu symptoms, please stay home.

Later in February, we will hold our AGM and we invite all members and parents to attend. We will email again closer to the time.

Dear Members,
I hope you had a great summer break.
With school starting next week, so is Taekwondo. We start back on Wednesday 3rd February.
The class times are:
First Class: 4pm – 4.40pm
Second Class: 4.40pm – 5.20pm
Third Class: 5.20pm – 6.15pm
Forth Class: 6.15pm – 7.15pm.
Fifth Class: 7.00pm – 8.20pm.
Also note we will not be training on Waitangi Day Monday 8th Feb.
Later in February, around the 24th Feb, we will hold our AGM and we invite all members and parents to attend.
Other dates of importance coming up include a tournament in Tauranga in mid April and our first grading in May. However we will send out more emails & posts closer to each of these dates.
