The grading date has been confirmed. Please make sure you pay all your training fees and union fee before your grading fee is paid.

Here is the date and time.

  • Saturday 13th October 2012
  • 1:30 – 2:00 Door opens for warm up and practice
  • 2:00-3:30 Grading
  • 3:30-4:30 Shared afternoon tea and play

Mixing training + Running on Sat

Dear members,

Here is another reminder of the time change for the tomorrow training (29th), as we are having a special visit from Hamilton North Martial Arts.

We are starting from 6pm and finishing at 7:30 pm.

This Saturday afternoon, we are going to do some running together for preparation of 5km run– meeting 4 pm at the memorial park (next to the airplane) by the south end of River road. Anyone interested is welcome.

Here is a list of Korean terminology used in Taekwondo training. Please remember the English tranliteration does not quite represent the exact Korean pronunciation. You can always ask one of Korean members 🙂

Basic instructions and names

  • Cha-ryot : attention
  • Kyong-rae : bow
  • Choon-bi : ready
  • Si-jak : start
  • Ku-mahn : stop
  • Ki-hup : the name for Taekwondo shout or yell
  • Poomsae : the name for Taekwondo forms or patterns
  • Kyo-rou-gi :the name for Taekwondo sparring
  • Do-jang : the place where you grain
  • Do-bok : Taekwondo uniform
